The course summary contains the full list of academic skills certified by the Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering at the Higher Polytechnic School of Jaén.

The aim of the master’s programme is to provide you with the skills you need to work as a computer engineer. The syllabus for the programme follows the recommendations set out in the University Council Agreement on the drafting of application summaries for official study programmes in the field of Computer Engineering, published by Resolution of the General Secretariat for Universities on 8 June 2009 (BOE of 4 August 2009), which establishes the following skills as an objective:

  • Ability to plan, calculate and design products, processes and installations in all areas of Computer Engineering.

  • Ability to manage installations and works on computer systems in compliance with current regulations and quality standards.

  • Ability to lead, plan and supervise multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to conduct mathematical modelling, calculation and simulation in technological centres and company engineering centres, particularly in research, development and innovation tasks in all areas linked to Computer Engineering.

  • Ability to develop, strategically plan, lead, coordinate and manage the technical and economic aspects of projects in all areas of Computer Engineering, following quality and environmental criteria.

  • Ability to undertake general management, technical management and management of research, development and innovation projects in the field of Computer Engineering in companies and technological centres.

  • Ability to implement, lead and manage production processes for computer equipment, guaranteeing the safety of people and property, the quality of the final products and their compliance with the relevant standards.

  • Ability to apply the knowledge obtained and to solve problems in new or unfamiliar settings within broader, multidisciplinary contexts by drawing on this knowledge.

  • Ability to understand and apply the ethical responsibility, legislation and professional standards relating to the professional practice of Computer Engineering.
